These meditations and stories are offered as a way to provide relaxation and rest at a time when we are being called to take a collective deep pause. These times demand that we practice exquisite self-care. May this rest be a respite and a sanctuary of peace and joy.
Here are some tips for maximum comfort:
The following tips are optional—no pressure or grasping necessary. You can practice anywhere including your parked car or closet.
Create a small rest cave or rest nest for yourself—a mat, couch or chair, soft rug, or your bed.
Grab a favorite blanket or a favorite cover. Your body temperature may drop as you relax so at least have something close by.
You may want to use a scarf or an eye bag to gently cover your eyes. It helps to move inward and to relax, but it is optional.
Lean back, relax, and follow along . . . nothing to do, no where to go.
You may fall asleep and that’s fine. You will still hear my voice and you likely need the sleep.
If at any time you feel like you do not want to hear my voice just tune out and return to noticing your breath, use a touchstone, or simply remember a place or a face that brings you joy and peace.
If you listen to the stories, it is a best practice to journal whatever comes up at the end of meditation. It helps to integrate the rest. You can spend a few minutes free writing whatever comes up. It’s okay to feel like you don’t know what to write. You can begin with, “I don’t know what to write” and go from there. These stories are from Women Who Run With The Wolves by Dr. Pinkola Estes. Are these are recordings of live sessions.
