May You Be Well - Transitions
Transitions
Time to rest, release and follow our inner rhythm
Dear Rest Friends,
How was your week? How are you transitioning into a new season? Take a minute right now to pause and ask yourself how you are feeling. What is your internal weather? What does your body need right now? Water? A deep breath? A nice full body stretch? A walk outside? A hug?
Most of us move through our days in auto-pilot, from one activity to the next, with no transition time to reflect and check-in. We move headlong into whatever comes next. Perhaps, if we become fully embodied, we will recognize the value of skillful transitions.
Transitions. This word has been front and center for me for at least a couple of years because I have been through several of them in a short time. Fortunately, the practice of yoga, in general, and yoga nidra, in particular, helped me ease through these transitions with equanimity, self-compassion, and grace. Yoga gave me tools to help quiet down my system enough to consciously move into the unknown adventures waiting in the next chapter.
Currently, we are in a time of transition - as a world, as a country, and as individuals. And as we witness ongoing unprecedented happenings and wonder what is next, nature continues to move through her cycles. Mother Nature comforts us and reminds us of the importance of rhythm and the importance of transitions.
So today, I offer you a recording to usher in the new season and ease the transition into whatever adventures are waiting for you in your next chapter. The recording includes the piece by Pixie Lighthorse Honoring Transmutation from her book Prayers of Honoring Grief. A 61-point body rotation, also known as Shavayatra, follows the poem. Next week, I will tell you more about this powerful tool for releasing muscle tension.
I hope you find these practices to be helpful during times of transition. We can cull wisdom during transitional times when we slow down enough to listen. I hope you have a wonderful week and that you take the time to enjoy the colors and the natural beauty of the season.
Have a wonderful week.
Be good to yourself, rest, and be well.
Love,
Marcela

This week a relative from Patagonia sent me this video… it’s music with a bit of magic. Watch this woman play the theremin and enjoy human ingenuity.
Our girls know how to enjoy the transition to cozy times! They are very good teachers.
